DevSecOps is almost a sector of DevOps. Defined, it is DevOps that automates the security of a project from start to finish. The DevSecOps lifecycle continuously improves through receiving feedback and throughout a project to the beginning stages of planning.
DevSecOps has always been a part of the DevOps culture from the beginning. Challenges within devops has always been integration of security on cross-functional teams. Leveraging automation in security in the devops lifecycle has normally been a separate function outside the devops team. Oftentimes it was an expensive, but necessary part of project lifecycles.
DevSecOps is implemented to automate security expertise on teams as was always needed. Security is a priority in DevSecOps and is a critical component of a projects lifecycle, which covers all bases and doesn’t require third party assistance. This leaves a focus on the product and doesn’t leave teams off track in the development of a project.
